This lithograph was printed on archival paper for the art book titled "Les Maitres du Dessin" (Masters of Drawing) printed in Paris in 1948 presented by Jean Cocteau. The book contained 10 reproductions of watercolors and sketches by Dufy. Raoul Dufy was a French Fauvist painter. He developed a colorful, decorative style that became fashionable for designers of ceramics and textiles, as well as decorative schemes for public buildings. He is noted for scenes of open-air social events. Dufy's cheerful oils and watercolors depict events of the time period, including yachting scenes, views of the French Riviera, chic parties, and musical events.
